But maintaining a healthy sexual relationship when bipolar can be as complex as the disease itself. Depending on the individual, behaviors can swing from periods of excessive sexuality to ones where sexual libido and function are seriously diminished. This high level of variability can impact a persons ability to date or maintain a long-term relationship. On the one hand, the impulsivity associated with bipolar mania can fuel unhealthy and even hurtful behaviors, while the rigors of depression can strain even the most committed relationships. Mania and Hypersexuality Hypersexuality is one of the behaviors that may manifest as a symptom of mania.?? It is defined as the increased need for sexual gratification, characterized by lowered inhibitions and/or the desire for forbidden sex. It is not unusual for people to experience a heightened sense of sexuality during a manic episode. In and of itself, this is not a problem. It is when it is paired with impulsivity, risk-taking, poor judgment, and expansivenessâ"all features of bipolar maniaâ"that hypersexuality can be destructive. When the pursuit of sex becomes compulsive, it may even be classified as a sex addiction.?? While the classification is still considered controversial, a person is said to have an addiction when he or she spends inordinate amounts of time in sexual-related activity to the point where important social, occupational, or recreational activities are neglected. Characteristics of sex addiction may include:Compulsive masturbationCompulsive sex with sex workersAnonymous sex with multiple partnersMultiple affairs outside a committed relationshipFrequent patronizing of sexually-oriented establishmentsHabitual exhibitionismHabitual voyeurismInappropriate sexual touching While hypersexuality and sex addiction are not inherent facets of bipolar mania, it is important to recognize the signs. Not only might like these behaviors hurt otherwise stable relationships, but they can also place the individual at increased risk of sexually transmitted infections and other harms. As such, finding the right combination of medications to control mania is considered essential to keeping hypersexuality from becoming destructive. Depression and Loss of Sexual Function Depression can kill the sex drive. And its not just the mood disorder itself that contributes to this; the very drugs used to treat depression can stifle libido and a persons ability to sexually function.?? People with bipolar disorder will sometimes go for months or even years with little to no interest in sex. This makes either pursuing or sustaining a relationship all the more difficult. Depression, by its very nature, fuels feelings of inadequacy and self-blame that translates to how one feels about sex in general. Bipolar disorder can challenge sexual relationships in a number of distinct ways: The bipolar person will often feel physically unattractive and undesirable.Lack of hygiene and grooming will often accompany these feelings.Feelings of inadequacy, vulnerability, and worthlessness interfere with intimacy.Exhaustion can make even the pursuit of sex emotionally and physically draining. The less sex a person has, the more he or she may feel guilt and self-doubt.Certain medications used to treat bipolar disorder (particularly selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors, or SSRIs) can decrease a persons sexual desire and/or ability to achieve an orgasm or erection. A lack of sexual interest is only one of the possible consequences of bipolar depression. In some cases, a person will behave in just the opposite manner, exhibit symptoms of hypersexuality as a means to compensate for these negative feelings. While treating bipolar depression must always remain the primary focus, it doesnt necessarily have to be the detriment of ones libido. There are ways to manage the sexual side effects of bipolar drugs without compromising treatment. By and large, SSRIs have not been found to be particularly effective for bipolar disorder. Mood stabilizers like lithium, Depakote (valproic acid), and Lamictal (lamotrigine) are considered more effective and typically have fewer sexual side effects.

Foreign Currency And International Trade - 1590 Words
Cooperation or Hegemony The main consequence of an exchange rate fluctuation for international trade is the risk for an exporter or an importer that the cost of foreign currency applied in business volumes will differ from the hoped and calculated. An exposition to foreign currency and a currency risk can make additional profits, and not just losses. However, being in an exposition to currency means relying on a case and most of businesspersons prefer not to allow their company being sensitive to unexpected changes. Therefore, the entities find methods of minimizing or complete elimination of exposition to foreign currency to plan business transactions and to predict profit more authentically (Frieden Lake 20). Importers aim to minimize exposition to foreign currency for the same reasons. Nonetheless, as well as in a case with the exporter, most of businesspersons prefer to minimize the exposition to foreign currency or to completely avoid it, and importers prefer to know precisely how many they should pay in currency, but not to take part in gambling on change of the currency rates. There are various methods of elimination of exposition to foreign currency performed by banks. In international trade, the exporter will make out a bill to the buyer in foreign currency, or the buyer will pay goods in foreign currency. The cost of import goods for the buyer or the cost of export goods for the seller can be increased or reduced because of change of the currency rates.Show MoreRelatedPolitical Factors That Affect International Business1020 Words à |à 5 Pagesfactors that affect international business includeâ⬠(Justin Ervin. Essay Bejamin Franklin -- A Life Of A Great Man - 1146 Words
Benjamin Franklin During the period after Americas quot;birthquot; there were many incredible people but none more so than Benjamin Franklin. Ben is considered one of Americas greatest citizens. He accomplished many things in his lifetime; he was a scientist, an inventor, a politician, a printer, a philosopher, a musician, and an economist. In the 1700s, a scientist was someone who thought about the way things work and tried to figure out ways to make things work better. Every time Ben Franklin saw a question and tried to answer it, he was a scientist. Ben is most famous for his questions about electricity, but he also experimented with many other ideas in nature. Ben did many studies on electricity, not just lightning. Franklinâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦From his window, he saw the worlds first known hot air balloon flight. The balloon lifted the Montgolfier brothers off of the ground as the first human beings ever known to fly (Lemay). Ben was very interested in the idea of flight. He predicted that balloons would eventually be used for military spy flights and dropping bombs during battle (FISM). Bens natural curiosity about things and the way they work made him try to find ways to make things work better. A list of Benjamin Franklins inventions reveals a brilliant man. Ben was cursed with poor vision, both farsighted and nearsighted. Franklin got frustrated with having to take off his glasses every time he needed to read something. He wished his glasses could make him see far and near. In order to accomplish this, Franklin cut two pairs of lenses in half and put half of each lens in one frame, inventing what we call today, bifocals. Though Ben is not known for studding bioscience, he was interested in how the human body works. His contribution to the study of the body was his invention of the flexible catheter, an instrument for showing the bloods circulation (FISM). During his long trips across the ocean he had time to study ships and how they worked. He derived a way to make ships more sturdy and safe by inventing quot;watertight bulkheadsquot;. This greatly improved the safety of sea travel (FISM). At the time people were using their fireplaces to heat there house. All that wood in an unprotected area

Civil rights in philosophy essay 10 BY BillBBowers Fighting For Rights and Justice: Civil Disobedience Summary With Millââ¬â¢s argument for a limited or possibility for no government and then Hobbeââ¬â¢s view that society and men where selfish and needed a sovereign offer to get along, brings us to the work of Henry David Thoreau. Thoreau is famous for his isolation of society and his work Walden, he seen this approach of no government and seeââ¬â¢s selfish man kind to, so his is an mixed theory. Thoreau knew that living in ociety was important, but didnââ¬â¢t think that the government should have such a say into ones personal life. We will write a custom essay sample on Civil rights in philosophy or any similar topic only for you Order Now Thoreau writes, ââ¬Å"Must the citizen ever for a moment, or in the last degree, resign his conscience to the legislator? Why has every man a conscience, then? â⬠He thought that the Just laws and government should be more important, similar to the same concepts ofa later famous philosopher, Martin Luther King. King took this same thought process when he protested and fought for rights and Justice in a civil disobedience way Objections Millââ¬â¢s argument for a limited government doesââ¬â¢t seem that intelligible or reliable to me; I personally donââ¬â¢t think that would work at all. I would agree more with Hobbesââ¬â¢s view that men are selfish and need some kind of sovereignty for an overall peaceful environment. However, a someone mix between the two like Thoreau tried to do would be beneficial, but I donââ¬â¢t see mankind willing to change and accepts new ways of government, especially not one so extreme. Itââ¬â¢s a good concept, but like most say, ââ¬Å"you canââ¬â¢t teach a old dog new tricks! Definition Philosophy is a such a broad and complex field that its offended hard to give a basic, simple definition. In a quick course, weââ¬â¢ve learned that Philosophy deals with subjects like religion, knowledge, reality, self, mind, body, freedom, ethics, and Justice. Each subject builds on top of the other, from religion we get our beliefs about how we got here and why. Which moves to our knowledge of why we learn, our brains and the way we learn over processes. Then we go into our reality in which we touch ack on knowledge and religion of what we really know and can prove, and why we are here. This moves back into a broad subject of the self, like who we really are why we think and learn different and our mind-body controversies. Fromm there we learn that our freedom is important and move into modern philosophy problems like ethics and, recently read, Justice. These are modern problems of how we rule, whats affective, whats not, how people want to be treated and ruled. These are important to philosophy as a while because we cant really say what the right answer is. How to cite Civil rights in philosophy, Papers

Prayer Of The Refugee The Story of a True Struggle Professor Ramos Blog
Prayer Of The Refugee The Story of a True Struggle TOPSHOT Thousands of migrants and refugees walk through the port of Piraeus after arriving from the Greek islands of Lesbos and Chios on February 1, 2016. On average, more than 1,900 people have arrived each day this month on Greek islands on unseaworthy boats from Turkey, according to the UN, which put the total of new arrivals in January at more than 50,000. More than 31,000 people have been registered on Lesbos during that time, the UN added. / AFP / LOUISA GOULIAMAKI (Photo credit should read LOUISA GOULIAMAKI/AFP/Getty Images) When you go shopping for yourself, have you ever wondered where or who made that nice shirt or those pair of shoes you been wanting? The majority of the time, the items we purchase at retail stores usually comes from places overseas made by children that we refer to as refugees. Itââ¬â¢s sad to imagine a world where children are being put to work for little to no pay living in unhealthy dangerous camps. Corporations usually do this to create mass productions of their product without having to pay their workers the right amount of money they deserve. Most of the time, these works are people young enough to be your own child or little brother and sister. Think twice before you purchase something that was imported from somewhere overseas. Many refugees flee their country to escape the horrible living arrangements they face in their home country. Even still, they are forced to work in slave-like conditions where ever they flee too. ââ¬Å"Lebanon has a population of just over 4 million people, a quarter of whom are Syrians who escaped the escalating civil crisis in their home countryâ⬠(Nash 2016). Even when they get to a place where they think is safe, they are still being put to work and forced to live in camps. ââ¬Å"According to a report by Freedom Fund, an antislavery activist group, refugee families are forced to live in tent communities- known as shawish and undertake labor obligationsâ⬠Syrian internally displaced people walk in the Atme camp, along the Turkish border in the northwestern Syrian province of Idlib, on March 19, 2013. The conflict in Syria between rebel forces and pro-government troops has killed at least 70,000 people, and forced more than one million Syrians to seek refuge abroad. AFP PHOTO/BULENT KILIC (Photo credit should read BULENT KILIC/AFP/Getty Images) (Nash2016). This is the type of reality poor young children are forced to live in and pray for a better change. These refugee camps are unhealthy, dangerous, and horrible way for anyone to be put through, especially children. They contain diseases and unhealthy water sources along with multiple other unhealthy methods that can be even worse than prison. ââ¬Å"In fact, the literature widely documents the association between poor housing conditions, characterized by the presence of humidity/mold, indoor pollutants, infestation, and the absence of a source of heating on the one hand, and reported illnesses by household members, such as dizziness, headache, irritation of eyes and skin, upper respiratory tract infection and an increase in the prevalence of cardiovascular diseasesâ⬠(Habib p.13). When you compare these living conditions to our prisons, you will see that it seems worse than some prisons out there. These people work hard for no pay and live in these dangerous conditions as if they did something to be punished yet they have done nothing to deserve it. Imagine your young loved one s being put through these conditions every day of their lives just so we can go out and buy the product we have no idea who is making it in the first place. There are some of the refugees out there that are trying to make their way to the U.S. yet, that is difficult to accomplish. Oftentimes, the children have to come here alone and leave their families behind. The ones that do however make it out here may sometimes land in dangerous situations. ââ¬Å"The investigation found that some of the children have ended up in dangerous situations. At least a dozen have been turned over to human traffickers, including sixà who were lured by smugglers to Mr. Portmanââ¬â¢s state, where they were put to work illegally on an egg farm for no pay. One was 14 years oldâ⬠(Dickerson 2018). à These children are only trying to find a better life through coming to the U.S. and sometimes still finding the same reality theyââ¬â¢re running from. Finding happiness for these innocent people may sometimes seem impossible. ââ¬Å"Children traveling alone surged across the southern border under Mr. Obama in 2014 when border agents apprehended 68,541 trying to enter the United States. About 41,000 have been apprehended in the current fiscal year, a 16 percent increase from the same period in 2017â⬠(Dickerson 2018). Those are the numbers of real children coming onto our land hoping in search for a better future when that may not even be what they actually find. These are the ones slaving away making the majority of the clothing or products we purchase on the daily without realizing it. Any product you purchase from out of our country can have a real story to it and whoââ¬â¢s hands they came from. I chose the song ââ¬Å"Prayer of the Refugeeâ⬠by Rise Against because it is a perfect representation of the lifestyle of a refugee that only wishes for a better life for them and their family. Tim McEllrath (artist of Rise Against) sheds light for those poor individuals by singing this song as it came out of their own mouths and displayed the hardship of an everyday lifestyle of a refugee. This song had so much depth meaning to it and can move you more by the visuals the music video contains. Rise Against is a band that was formed in 1999 with songs that support many great organizations such as PETA, animal rights, and more. Their goal is to shed more light on many important situations in the world that we pay no attention too. Being so blind to manyà of these situations or just choosing to not pay attention is was most of us are guilty of and we need to start making a change in the way we live our daily lives. I chose this specific song out of all of their meaningful songs they have because of the simple fact that this crisis is happening to young children who deserve nothing but to be loved and cared for by the people that are taking full advantage of them. These children are no more different than the children in your own life. I just hope one day, these children and families will find the life they deserve and be able to live on with the fact the no one is trying to take advantage of them and use them to make a quick dollar. How Film Producers Analyze Your Screenplay
How Film Producers Analyze Your Screenplay When an actor reads a script, heââ¬â¢ll think about how to approach his character, his motivation, his arc. When a cinematographer reads that same script, heââ¬â¢s thinking about lighting, camera angles, and what cinematic style to employ. The art director thinks about how to use design principles and visual techniques, while the editor assesses how everything will cut together. But what about the producer? After all, sheââ¬â¢s the creative gatekeeper who has committed to bringing all these people together to turn your script into a movie. What does she look for? In short, everything. (Albeit from a macro level.) Because if she doesnââ¬â¢t understand what the script needs, how will she assemble the right team for it? Moreover, how will she find its audience? Below are six main areas that a good producer will consider when reviewing your script. Story The producer wants fleshed-out characters, dramatic tension, coherent theme, and appropriate narrative structure. These are the underpinnings of viable cinematic storytelling. The story should resonate with your target demographic ââ¬â whether through comedy, drama or thrills ââ¬â ultimately offering a two-hour journey that encourages the willing suspension of disbelief. Bottom line, you can take a great story and make a so-so movie, but youââ¬â¢ll never turn a so-so story into a great movie. Budget Producers are not only the filmââ¬â¢s creative shepherds but also its fiscal ones. Theyââ¬â¢re responsible for deciding how much the film should cost and then securing that amount from investors. They also maintain a fiduciary duty to make choices that will benefit those investors. Smaller stories that require over-the-top set pieces or excessive visual effects might turn what would otherwise be a greenlight into a pass. Similarly, material with a low-budget feel might turn off a producer seeking something with wide theatrical appeal. Cast The right cast is almost indispensable to selling a film, so itââ¬â¢s no great mystery why producers rarely read a script without thinking about who would play key roles. Think about known actors whose look, style and personality might best befit the characters and let that inform your writing. The producer may ask you who you see playing those characters. Just make sure the actors you pick have a decent track record of starring in successful films. Execution Logistics At the end of the day, remember that the producer is tasked with turning your words into images. That means finding the right locations, hiring the best crew, securing vendors, determining a feasible schedule, and doing it all in a way that protects the integrity of both the story and budget. If she sees a workable path for bringing your script to screen within the budget parameters, sheââ¬â¢s more likely to take a chance on it. Marketing Loving a script is not enough. The producer wants to know that others will love it, too. Those people will make up the movieââ¬â¢s audience. As she reads, sheââ¬â¢ll be thinking about how to grab the audienceââ¬â¢s attention before they ever buy a ticket, from posters (how will the stars look on it?) to trailers (are there some good action-oriented set piece moments?) to awards potential (can I parlay a win at Cannes into an Oscar?). Considering such things in the scripting stage yourself might make your material more marketable. Distribution A feature film is ultimately a product. Making it is only the first step. Releasing it to an audience is the rest. The producer thinks about which distributors, sales agents, and platforms will find the story appealing, whether it be a made-for-TV movie, an international blockbuster, or a small Spanish-language indie for the Latin streaming market. Elements like scope, scale, plot, tone, genre, cast type, and marketability factor into this decision, so your understanding of such things help you better craft material. Summary These six elements are critical to how a producer analyzes a screenplay, but they donââ¬â¢t operate in a vacuum. They all relate and affect each other. For instance, story and budget will affect the level of cast you can attract, while all three will affect logistics. Cast and budget will affect the marketing plan, and so on. As such, multi-hyphenates like writer-producers who actually produce some of their own material are in the best position to consider another producerââ¬â¢s mindset when writing future scripts. For further insights, here is part of an interview I did with Film Courage on this topic: https://youtu.be/PAz-hW_Vym0
